First LLS Conference a resounding success

What a day!

Thank you so much to all the folk who turned out for what proved to be a really exciting and vibrant conference…

Thank you to the 23 external delegates who came from libraries as far afield as Dublin, Yorkshire, London, Birmingham and all points in between.

Thank you to the 27 academic and support staff representing all six of The University of Northampton’s Academic Schools and several departments.

And thank you to the 36 LLS staff who presented papers, created posters, gabbled for minutes of total madness and showed the enormous enthusiasm that was the subject of many envious comments from other delegates.

As we come back down to earth, we’ll be doing our best to share the outputs of the conference with those who did and didn’t make it.  Nick has already uploaded all of the presentations, the posters and the banners, and will shortly be sharing some of the feedback we have received.

If you attended the conference and feel able to comment on any of the presentations or posters then please feel free to do so – just add your comment to the appropriate page.  If you have anything to say about the conference generally then by all means comment here.  It was our first ever conference but I’m sure it won’t be the last, so do help us to make the next one even better!

  1. I presented for a minute as part of the Minute Madness and loved every second. I wished I could have attended the whole day, as there was a great buzz about the event. I am very proud of the people who put together such a great event and I’m looking forward to more involvement at the next one. Well done Super Team.

  2. It was wonderful to be a part of this fantastic conference! The balance of presentations was excellent – I am looking forward to seeing how some of the ideas progress, especially the ‘iconography of the library’. The ‘minute madness’ was hilarious – it didn’t matter what people were talking about in the end because it was entertaining! It was also great to see so many people make the effort to attend from outside of the University. A massive ‘well done’ to the organisers for making this happen…

  3. What a great day!

Very interesting and engaging, the presenters were eager to answer questions on their proposals/findings which led to some interesting debates. I feel it was immensely positive on a professional level, I gained deeper insight into my colleagues current projects and it was lovely to be able share in their successes.

  4. This event made me SO proud to be part of the LLS family :). All of the speakers were clearly passionate about their subjects and the MInute Madness was hilarious!

  5. Easily one of the best conferences I have attended, all the speakers were very interesting and clearly have passion regarding what they do. I presented a ‘Minute Madness’ on the day, although I over ran, I thought these session proved a great success.
